The name Reiki derives from the Japanese pronunciation of two Japanese characters that describe the energy itself: "rei" (meaning 'unseen' or 'spiritual') and "ki" (Chinese "qi", here meaning 'energy' or 'life force').

A Reiki Master Manual is your guide to be a powerful Healer
A Reiki Master Manual defines Reiki as a gentle, yet profound, non-invasive therapy, which can facilitate stress-reduction and relaxation, support effective immune-system function, enhance the body’s self-healing mechanisms, and replenish and nurture vitality.
You will further explore that Reiki is very efficient in combination with other therapies, and has been proven to effectively stimulate the recovery process.
Rather than influencing on the physical level, Reiki has a holistic healing response across the entire spectrum of ones being - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
It can be beneficial in the resolving of physical, emotional, mental disorders and nervous conditions, and further helps experiencing a greater sense of balance, feeling of well-being, and wholeness in ones life.
The gentle Reiki phenomenon has no negative side effects, and does not require any concentration on the part of the client.
A complete Reiki Master Manual contains 3 parts:
- Level Reiki 1 - Level Reiki 2 - - Level Reiki 3 (Master Level)
Reiki Master Manual 1
What means Level 1 Reiki?
In Level 1, the Reiki Master Attunement opens the students awareness of the flow of Reiki.
Traditionally, in Usui Shiki Ryoho the outer focus of Level 1 Reiki is on hands-on therapy at a purely physical level both for self-treatment and for treating others.
However, on the energetic level Reiki1 is about developing the chakra system and learning to become a clear channel for Reiki.
In the beginning of learning Reiki it is about learning to let go and let the energy flow. You have to accept that the energy expresses through you and the therapeutic effect of healing just happens.
The attitude should be almost Zen-like, compassionate, and as detached as possible. You have to learn sitting quietly, ‘no-doing’, not seeking after outcomes, Reiki just flows. If healing happens, it happens, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t - either way it’s no concern of yours.
Developing this attitude early on will greatly enhance the quality of ones experience with Reiki.
Reiki Master Manual 2
What means Level 2 Reiki?
As Level 1 opens the student to the awareness of the energy of Reiki, the Level 2 Reiki Master Attunement deepens the quality of that flow.
Having developed the attitude of ‘compassionate detachment from outcomes’ at level 1, the Level 2 student is provided with a set of symbolic tools enabling them to ’set’ intentions - and broaden the scope of their therapeutic interventions.
Within the Level 2 manual and training, the student is introduced to a set of three sacred Reiki Master symbols, and is instructed in their use as a means of:
- enhancing the effectiveness of physical level treatment (both hands-on and on-contact- i.e. in the clients aura) - carrying out treatment at deeper psycho-emotional levels - performing distant or remote treatments - i.e. for people not physically present.
Reiki Master Manual 3
What means Level 3 Reiki? Level 3 is commonly referred to as the ‘Master’ level, but is more properly the ‘Teacher’ level, being the level at which the practitioner will manifest the ability to impart Initiation/Reiki Master Attunements to others.
This level’s Attunement brings a greater deepening of connection to the Reiki phenomenon.
The Reiki Master Manual practitioner is introduced to a fourth sacred symbol - the Master symbol, and is instructed in its uses, including its significance in the Attunement process.
While many people will choose to progress to Level 2 (- with its deeper energy connection and expanded healing techniques -) and eventually to Level 3 (the Master/Teaching Level), Reiki Level I training will provide all the basic awareness required to practice this special therapeutic art - primarily for self-healing, and also for treating others - family, friends, pets - even household plants.
For those attuned to it, and followed the Reiki Master Manual, the energy healing method that is called Reiki can, amongst other things, be utilized as a form of body-centred meditation. It can also, especially at the higher levels, prove an invaluable tool for spiritual growth, having a subtle yet profound effect on ones personal development.

Reiki Healing Accelerates Recovery, Boosts Inner Balance.
Reiki healing is a popular form of alternative medicine these days. It’s current form comes from Japan, but many believe its origins trace from there back to India.
Reiki healing can be used to heal both the body and the spirit. It compliments other healing methods beautifully. Reiki is excellent to use to speed recovery, as it cannot do harm.
Reiki healing is spiritual in nature. This can be taken in two different ways: Firstly, it is a practice of the spirit. It is a way of using spiritual energy to help another. Secondly: It, like all forms of energy healing, it tends to work from the top down, working first on the energy systems, and then affecting the physical body from there.
What this means that if you need help mending a wounded heart, energy healing is a good way to go, and Reiki in particular will be of great help.
As we go through life, the bumps and bruises we get take their toll. As time goes on, they can weigh you down and make wreck your emotional balance and physical wellbeing. Reiki can bring a gentle rain to the parched landscape of painful experiences.
As for healing the body, the effects are subtle and can be profound. The very least that Reiki will do is to relax the body. This alone can do so much. In modern society, we are constantly winding ourselves up: Time pressures are never-ending, we’re constantly loading stimulants into our bodies, and the fight-or-flight reaction is almost always on. Releasing that and letting the body reset is very restorative.
Moving beyond the benefits of a relaxed body, I’ve seen motion sickness halted. I’ve seen burns disappear. I’ve seen surgery healed in a fraction of the normal time. Reiki is used to manage chronic pain and to assist in all of life’s transitions. The healing effect have been compared to water - strong, yet gentle.
The combination of Reiki healing with other forms of energy healing is generally considered the best way to go. Myself and the other practitioners I know go to the doctor when we’ve got a health problem, but we use Reiki to support modern medicine instead of replace it. Many of us will also blend Reiki with other forms of energy healing, but that’s another topic entirely.
An interesting note is that Reiki cannot be used to harm. It just won’t do it. I tell a story on my site about when I got ambitious and careless and tried to use a technique I hadn’t been taught yet. Long story short - I wasn’t harmed, but I was absolutely taught a lesson. Reiki won’t harm, even if I might have deserved it.
This is a broad topic, and this article just scratches the surface. From how you can heal over distance and time, to symbols passed from teacher to student, there are lots of aspects of this method to explore.
If you’re looking for a healing method which is gentle and blends easily with other methods, I’d strongly suggest exploring Reiki.

Enhance the Sensory and Shore Up the Body by Energy Healing.
Using spiritual energy to bolster the healing process is called energy healing. Any time you’ve prayed for the well-being of another, or held someone close to try to give them a boost, you’ve practiced the very basics already. Over time, people have developed systems to take this concept and expand its usefulness. We’ll take a brief tour of a couple below.
As far back as people can trace, we have used spiritual energy to heal. In every culture all over the world, there has been the common concept that the spirit can be used to heal. As part of the natural march of technology, this basic idea has evolved into different forms. Each is unique, but each can be traced back to the common origin.
Given the nature of energy healing, keep in mind that we are more than our physical body. The body is like a vehicle we use to explore the world, but it’s not who we really are. The healing methods we’re discussing can be used both to bring balance to the spirit, and also to bolster the body.
Each person will be drawn to one of the many styles of energy healing. Each person will bring something unique to the understanding of how energy it all works, the ups and downs of each system. The important thing to keep in mind is that even as each method is unique, they all arrive at the same destination.
Amongst the more popular forms of healing out there are Pranic healing, EFT, and Reiki.
*Reiki is hands-on healing in the early levels, and is taught person-to-person.
*Out of the art of acupuncture comes EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. Tapping is used in this system to balance the improper flow of energy through the body.
*Breathing in the life of the universe and letting it heal you is the basis of Pranic healing.
Expanding your awareness for energy healing is best done by starting with the basics: your body. Center your awareness on each sensation on your skin. Notice the weight on your face, and the gentle touch of the air on your skin. All of it. As you keep your awareness focused on what you are experiencing in this moment, you will be training yourself to be a great healer.
Of the three energy healing styles listed above, I recommend EFT for beginners. Not that complicated, and pretty friendly to learn. It’s also handy in lots of situations. Reiki is the one I use most, but finding a teacher can be a pain. I suggest everyone learn the basics of pranic healing as energy movement will benefit you no matter what you do.
Each one of us has our own will. I was drawn strongly towards Reiki, where you may be drawn towards EFt, another technique, or want to study them all, as I am. The important thing is to keep your focus on what you feel. Trust it. The more you allow yourself to feel, the better your intuition and healing ability will be.
There’s no shortage of areas to explore when it comes to energy healing. What you see here is just a drop in the bucket, and each path has much to teach. By picking a method to study and developing your awareness and skill in moving energy, you can benefit not only those you heal, but yourself as well.

Start Living Again With Chakra Meditation
Meditation has been around for around two thousand years, it’s been a way of life for mankind. In fact every religion that is practiced by men uses some sort of meditation as a way of achieving a higher form of spiritual consciousness.
At first meditation was used mostly by religious priests, but through the years meditation has been picked up by ordinary people when they discover just how the various benefits work.
For those who are new to meditation, it is simply the practice of concentrated and intense focus on sounds, objects, ideas, breathing rhythm, action or movement to be able to intensify perception, cut down stress, enhance relaxation, personal and spiritual growth.

The Hidden Treasures of Chakra Energy
Very few people acknowledge the presence of an internal energy reservoir in our bodies that is responsible for our physical and mental well-being. This lack of knowledge is more prevalent in the Western world, as the concept of spiritual energy was more prevalent and adhered to in the eastern countries, like India.
Most commonly, this is known as ‘Chakra Energy’, or the energy generated by the seven primary energy centers in the body. These energy centers are situated from the base of spine upwards to the head. A brief description of location of seven Chakras won’t be out of place:
* Base Chakra (RED) located at the coccyx (base of the spine).
* Sacral Chakra (ORANGE) located in the lower abdomen.
* Solar Plexus (YELLOW) Chakra situated just above the navel.
* Heart Chakra (GREEN) located in the center of the chest.
* Throat Chakra (BLUE) situated in the throat region.
* Brow Chakra (INDIGO) situated on the forehead.
* Crown Chakra (VIOLET) located on top of the head.
These Chakras are in constant state of movement, which produces the energy, known as Chakra Energy. For the normal physical and mental health of the body, the synergy between the movements of these seven charkas plays the all-important role.
Your bodily health, both physical and mental, is entirely dependent on the harmonious movement of these seven primary charkas. Any kind of disharmony in their movements is unacceptable to the body and results in ill health in one form or the other.
So, what’s there to know about Chakra Energy? The entire Chakra System of the body is based on the spiritual side of our existence. It’s more a matter of feeling than sensing. You can say that Chakra System is a part of the sixth sense in your body. The energy produced by the Chakra System is responsible for blessing you with a healthy life or cursing you with an unhealthy one.
If the balance in their movements is achieved, then there’s no greater friend than Chakras, and if there is an imbalance, there’s no greater enemy than Chakras.
The other important thing to know about Chakra Energy is the difficulty level in your quest to attain Chakra balance. Indeed, it’s not easy to bring about a radical shift in Chakra movement overnight. However, if you persist and show extreme determination to attain that magical Chakra balance, believe me, it’s a life-changing experience. The process is called Chakra Meditation, and is performed by sitting or lying down in a most natural posture. The next step is to relax every body part and feel every cell and organ of the body starting from the toe. This means a lot of visualization, and in the process, lots of distractions in the form of negative emotions. But the key is to persevere and eventually, you will conquer every hurdle in your way and transform into the most evolved being known to mankind.
You may ask if achieving physical and emotional well being is so simple, then why are the incidents of such ailments on the rise? The answer is pretty obvious. The advancements in the modern day living have translated into our increasing reliance on the materialistic things. In the worldly pursuits, man has slowly but surely lost contact with the spiritual aspect of his existence. This myopic mindset has robbed humans of their earthiness.
Fortunately, everything is not lost forever because the Chakra Energy is within, and you can correct the Chakra movements anytime you want to change your life for better. All it requires is sustained effort and a strong desire to make a healthy change in your life. If you appreciate and understand your body and its simple requirements, then balanced Chakra movements is not too difficult to achieve. Originally, our needs are not meant to go beyond what Mother Earth can naturally provide. However, the imbalance of Chakra movements is the price we have collectively paid for the scientific advancements. And Chakra balancing is the answer to all your health-related questions in the Twenty First Century.

How Chakra Balancing Can Help You Achieve Health and Happiness!
In this technology obsessed society we live in, most people have simply forgotten about the existence and importance of a spiritual being inside their physical being.
The Hindu thought of life, however, has kept the flame of spiritual-healing burning amidst the advancements in science and technology.
Our body actually consists of seven primary and thousands of secondary Chakras. The word Chakra, is a Sanskrit word meaning Wheel of Light, and according to the theory, these Chakras rotate and vibrate continuously in a healthy human body.
As a result, an imbalance in the vibration of these chakras results in a corresponding imbalance of the healthy functioning of the body. So, Chakra Balancing needs to be done to ensure a healthy body, mind, and soul.
Chakras are Entry Gates of the Aura and the centers of activity that receives, assimilates and expresses life-force energy. Located along the central line of the body from the base of the spine to the top of the head the seven main Chakras absorb and transmit energies to and from the universe, nature, celestial entities, and even from people.
What distorts Chakra Balancing?
If one or more of the Chakras is blocked, the energy does not flow smoothly through them and the end result will be an imbalance between the Chakras that result in physical or emotional problems.
There are many factors which can cause the distortion of the Chakras. This includes health issues, stress, inappropriate diet, exposure to poisons, lack of exercise, inability to express emotions, untrue beliefs, being unconnected from your higher power, childhood traumas, cultural conditioning, emotional problems etc.
Chakra balancing is Truly the Key to Health and Happiness
It is very much a utopian idea that the Chakras function completely harmoniously. And so, human effort has always been to try and correct this distortion and strike a fine balance between these Chakras. The idea of self-healing is loosely based on Chakra balancing.
Chakras manipulate our body shape, glandular functions, chronic physical illness, thoughts, and behavior. Chakra balancing ensures that these parameters are working towards a healthy body, mind, and soul.
The benefits of Chakra Balancing include:
* Complete happiness and peace in body
* Physical health with individual strength
* Consciousness and being in touch with ones body
* Sexually comfortable life without getting partial by lust
* Knowledge of individuals feelings at the unearthly level
* Superior capacity to attract and convey love in ones life
* Increased spiritual growth and maturity
* Spiritual healing along with efficient modes of understanding, awareness, and recognition
* A sympathetic and adoring heart
* Wonderful confidence levels, but short of being over-confident
* Approaching of the Self
How do you achieve Chakra Balancing?
Chakra Balancing in ones body can be achieved by employing different techniques. Primarily, you can use one or more of the following techniques in order to harmonize the Chakra functioning in your body:
* Therapeutic Therapies for example Reiki,
* Yoga (with breathing exercises) and/or Meditation sessions
* Exercise of body
* Color/Light Therapy
* Crystals and Gems
* Balancing with Pendulums and Hands
* Aromatherapy
* Feeling Therapy
* Positive Thinking
* Sound Frequencies
* Hypnosis and Affirmations, etc.
Our body is a reservoir of energy, in which the spent energy is released and disposed of by the body organs, and replenished, with new supplies of energies.
Chakra balancing ensures that this energy is received and consumed by the body, and all of the body’s cells and main organs get the correct amount of this energy.
When your Chakras are returned to their natural frequencies, inner peace, well being and happiness follows. Chakra Balancing is simply getting the Chakras back to their normal state of vibration.

Feng Shui - Taking the Country By Storm
These days many no-nonsense designers and modern day engineers are actually resorting to the age-old art of Feng Shui. The art of Feng Shui governs the correct placement of buildings, accessories and furniture so attract the maximum amount of positive energy in the house and life. However, it is quite surprising, why would people living in the age of technology and facts now go towards such an ancient art?
Its important to note that feng shui is not just art, although it can be called that. There are no hard and fast rules about many of the elements of feng shui, just like any other medium, so there is a lot of room for interpretation ” as there is in art.

Why and How Does Reiki Work?
Reiki. Hmph. Another one of those new-agey, wacky alternative medicines that gullible people spend all their money on. I very seriously doubt it will work, don’t you?
I’m sure if you’ve been around medicine you’ve heard statements like this. You may even have thought them. And in my younger days, I would have thought them too. Except for one small problem. Reiki does work for both healing as well as spiritual growth, and millions of people across the globe could testify to this.

The Nature of Reiki Energy
This is an excerpt from the new book William is writing with Arjava Petter and Walter Lübeck titled, The Spirit of Reiki, which has been available in English since 2001. I developed an interest in metaphysics in high school and a few years later decided I wanted to make it my life focus. Over the course of the next twenty years I proceeded to take a wide range of metaphysical and inner development classes. I often studied and practiced a particular subject until I could offer professional sessions to others. During this time, I became a hypnotherapist, a past life regression therapist, an astrologer, a rebirther, an NLP Professional, a tarot card reader, and while living in Hawaii, I studied and worked with a Kahuna for over a year. As I learned each new subject, I found that my previous training and experience would add to my understanding of each new skill and this broadened my comprehension. I found that I could often create unique ways to apply the new skills that had not been thought of by those who had training in only one area.

Why is a Reiki Attunement Necessary?
Over the years that I have been teaching Reiki, I have often been asked the question: “Why do I need an attunement or initiation to healing energy?” or “If this is universal life energy that is available to all why do I need to come to a Reiki class and receive a special initiation?” I would like to address these questions. I am going to focus on the word initiation as I feel that when you receive an attunement to the Reiki energy you are being initiated into the energy.
In the “Oxford English Dictionary” initiation is described as “the action of beginning, entering upon, or starting something.” It is also defined as “formal introduction by preliminary instruction or initial ceremony into some position, office, or society, or knowledge of or participation in some principles or observances- hence - admission to the knowledge of instruction in the elements of any subject or practice.” This definition accurately describes my perception of an initiation.
